After Care:

Green Peel Home Care Instructions
You have just received an Herbal Green Peel and it is important to take special care of your skin for the next week your skin is going through the “peeling “ process.

What to Expect:
The first day or two your skin should feel very sensitive and “prickly” if you touch it. This will subside by the third day.
Skin may look very pink for the first day or next day. That will subside by the third day.
It is very typical to experience itching for several days you are peeling
Your home care products can alleviate a lot of the itching and tightness.
Your skin appearance while it is peeling may look a bit strange so apply the Home Care creams heavier to conceal better.

Amount of peeling and length of days can vary. SOME SKIN DOES NOT PEEL AT ALL.
Be sure to have your Post Care Treatment between day 5-7
It is recommended to follow Dr. Schrammek Skin Care Maintenance program
Remember if you are having a short series of peeling done you must continue on a specific skin care regimen.

Please Avoid:
Any activity that could flush the herbal particles out of your skin, such as: face in shower, heavy perspiration, steam, swimming or any other activity around water.
Any activity that over exposes you to prolonged sun, UV radiation or wind.
Discontinue any other skin care regime except for the specified Dr. Schraammek “home care” products you have been given for the next week. As well, use the post care serum ampoules day 5.
Do not pick, scratch or attempt to pull at any peeling of the skin.

Post-Care

What is Micro Needling?
Micro Needling causes tiny injuries in the epidermis and dermis layers of the skin, triggering the body’s healing response. The “injury” in the skin, irrigates the rich red blood cells of the body to form new collagen and elastin.
Micro Needling is great for clients who suffer from acne scarring, hyperpigmentation, sun damage, uneven skin tone and texture and is great alternative for an anti-aging treatment.

Day 1 – We soothed the treated area with a 24k gold mask and/or red/blue light therapy. Do not cleanse skin, only moisturize with hyaluronic acid.
Day 2 – cleanse the skin with cold water, and moisturize with hyaluronic acid or a growth factor serum.
The first two days post Micro Needling, you want to cleanse the skin with just cool water. The best way to keep the skin moisturized is hyaluronic acid or a growth factor serum. Some clients do experience peeling. If you do, please do not pick or peel it.
Day 3-7 – You can start to cleanse with a gentle cleanser. You must still stay away from any medical grade products such as, salicylic acid, lactic acid, glycolic acid, RetinA, retinol and etc.
Day 8 – You may try to incorporate your medical grade skin care slowly into your routine again.

DISCLAIMER : With any product, always try a test patch to see how the skin reacts.

For 24 Hours, Avoid:
• Makeup
• Excessive sweating (gym, leisure exercises, yoga, hot yoga etc.)

For 1 Week, Avoid:
• Chemically treated water (pools, saunas, hot tubs, steam rooms etc.)
• Avoid tanning beds and direct sunlight

NEUROMODULATOR/HYALURONIC ACID DERMAL FILLER PRE-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS

1. Neuromodulator (eg. Botox, Dysport) cannot be administered to any patient who is pregnant, breastfeeding, has certain nerve or muscular disorders, or is taking certain medications (tetracycline, or any aminoglycoside antibiotics, or calcium channel blockers for high blood pressure). Please check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure if you are taking these medications.

2. Hyaluronic Acid Dermal Filler (filler) cannot be administered to any patient who is pregnant, breastfeeding, or has a severe allergy to bee stings.

3. If you have taken any mood altering drugs in the last 8 hours you will be unable to do your treatment.

4. In order to minimize bleeding and bruising during your treatment please avoid the following for at least 2 days prior: drinking alcohol, taking Aspirin or any other anti-inflammatory medications (eg. Ibuprofen, Naproxen, Advil, Aleve, etc), oral vitamin E, garlic tablets, ginkgo balboa, ginseng, St. John’s Wort, fish oil, or omega 3 tablets. It is your responsibility to consult with your own physician or pharmacist if you are unsure if you can stop these medications.

5. On the day of your treatment wash your face thoroughly with an antibacterial soap and apply minimal, or ideally no foundation or other makeup to the treatment area.

6. Please ensure you have had something to eat and drink one hour prior to your appointment.

7. After neuromodulator treatment there are usually no telltale marks 30 minutes to 1 hour post treatment, but occasionally patients can swell or bruise.

8. Fillers do tend to cause swelling and bruising, particularly around the lips, so we suggest not planning any special events after a filler treatment.

9. If you have a special event coming up we suggest to book your treatments 2-4 weeks ahead of time.

POST CARE

NEUROMODULATOR (Botox/Dysport) POST-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS

For the next 3 hours after your treatment:

· To maximize the results you should contract the injected muscles as frequently as possible. This helps the medication bind naturally to the intended muscle and helps to avoid uptake into adjacent muscles.

· Stay in the upright posture and avoid lying down.

For the next 24 hours:

· Avoid repetitive bending over motions (eg. snow shoveling, gardening, house cleaning).

· Avoid alcohol.

· Avoid aspirin.

· On the first evening after treatment only splash your face clean, do not rub.

· Do not massage, rub, or apply any pressure to the treated areas. You can apply skin care products and make-up very gently to the treated areas.

· Avoid vigorous exercise and excessive heat (eg tanning, hot tubs, sauna).

Book a follow up appointment to evaluate your treatment results in 2 weeks time.

Your next treatment will be due in 3-4 months time – when you start to see significant movement of the muscles and skin in the treatment area. Try not to let the neuromodulator wear off completely before you have your next treatment – this helps to ensure we can stay ahead of any wrinkles.

HYALURONIC ACID DERMAL FILLER POST-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS

· Do not massage, rub or apply any pressure to the treated areas for the next 4-5 days. The filler is very soft at this point and can be accidentally remolded/reshaped to different degrees by ski/swimming goggles, resting your cheek on your fist, sleeping on cheek filler, etc.

· Cheek filler: sleep on your back for 7-10 nights – use a travel pillow to help. Dermal fillers can take 4-6 weeks to reach full stability and strength. Initially they are very soft and easily malleable, over the next few weeks they become stronger and more resilient.

· Avoid alcohol for 24 hours.

· You may wash your skin, apply skin care products, and make-up very gently and in an upward direction for the first 2-3 days following your treatment.

· Avoid vigorous exercise for the next 2 days. You may resume normal activities immediately. Avoid running for 7 days (power walking and elliptical are allowed).

· Ice may be applied gently to the area immediately following treatment: apply ice in cycles of ‘30 seconds on’ then ‘30 seconds off’ to avoid freezing the filler or irritating the underlying nerves. Repeat this cycle as needed for 20-30 minutes.

· Avoid extreme temperatures for 7 days after treatment (eg. tanning, hot tubs, sauna, use a scarf over your face if the temperature is -10°C or colder).

· Tylenol or Advil can be taken for discomfort if needed. Arnica gel can be effective to minimize bruising or swelling.

· Book a follow up appointment to evaluate your treatment results in 2 weeks time

PRE CARE

Make sure your hair is at least 1/4th of an inch. The longer the better, our wax experts prefer trimming it themselves. Allow at least 3-4 weeks between waxing and / or shaving.

Take a Tylenol 30 minutes before your appointment if you’re worried about pain. If you are really sensitive than you may purchase our no scream cream to help you relax. (more info below) It helps relieve pain associated with waxing 80%-100%

If needed, arrive 30 minutes before your appointment and purchase our numbing cream. Please keep in mind, you are numb not frozen. You may still experience discomfort/pain. Make sure you request it at the time of booking either online, in person or over the phone.

Get a good night’s rest before your appointment. If your not sleeping properly your body is more sensitive to feel the edge from waxing.

Your skin is often more sensitive to the time near your period, and waxing can be more painful than normal. We highly recommend for you to wait until after right after your cycle to get a wax.

Shower and lightly exfoliate your entire area to be waxed right before your appointment using warm, not hot water. This helps to soften your hair and relax your pores. Also, try to wear comfy undergarments, you don’t want super tight clothing irritating your freshly waxed sweet spot. Our body scrubs are excellent for this waxing pre-care step and made locally.

Don’t use any lotions or oils on the area to be waxed. Do not use peels (glycolic, AHA, etc.) or microdermabrasion on the waxing area up to 24 hours prior to receiving a skin wax, also notify your technician if you are on any medication that may make your skin prone to sensitivity.

Even though you wish you could be buzzed during a wax please try to avoid alcohol and caffeine at least 3 hours before a session. This waxing pre-care step is really important in making sure that the pain does not linger, a lot of times caffeine can also give you the jitters

POST CARE

Do let your waxologist know if you experience any unusual sensitivity during the waxing process. Please keep in mind, waxing can cause sensitivity.

Do keep your skin moisturized on a regular basis. Well-hydrated skin helps to make your waxing appointment more comfortable as the hair follicles are relaxed.

Do wear comfortable clothing to your appointment if possible, especially if you are getting a Brazilian bikini wax. Let your private part breath.

Do take a shower once you get home after your appointment but avoid using any heavily scented body washes or lotions. Always try finishing your shower with a 1-minute cold rinse. Not only is it good for your freshly waxed pores but great for relaxing your whole body.

Don’t put any moisturizer on the day of your appointment on the body parts being waxed.

Don’t tweeze in between your waxing sessions. It causes uneven hair growth, and if not done properly it can cause ingrown hair.

Don’t shave in between your waxing sessions either. Shaving will only make the hair thicker making waxing more painful and reversing your progress in achieving longer-lasting results.

Don’t go tanning at least 3 days before and after your appointment. This can cause your skin to get burnt. If you do plan on getting spay tans it is best to do it after a waxing appointment as you will get longer lasting tan due to the dead skin being removed in your appointment.

Avoid sex for 24 hours post treatment.

Avoid touching the area with your hands. Hands are dirty, and the skin has been freshly waxed.

PRE CARE

Discontinue the use of any Isotretinoin products (such as Accutane) for 6 months before treatment – unless you have clearance by a doctor/dermatologist.

Discontinue the use of topical Retin-A or generic tretinoin for at least 48 prior to your Hydrafacial treatment.

Refrain from any type of exfoliating treatments such as glycolic acid, salicylic, retinol etc. or enzymes to the area for 48 hours before your Hydrafacial treatment.

Refrain from any medium and/or deep chemical resurfacing treatments (peels) and laser treatments for 4 weeks before your HydraFacial MD treatment.

Refrain from waxing and use of depilatories for 48 hours before treatment (nair, veet etc)

Discontinue use of over-the-counter acne medications such as benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid for 48 hours before treatment.

Avoid excessive sun exposure as well as the use of artificial tanning beds for 72 hours before Treatment.

Wait 1 week after Botox and 2 weeks after fillers to undergo a treatment. Botox and fillers can be given on the same day but AFTER your HydraFacial MD treatment.

For men, shaving is not recommended on the day of treatment. If you choose to shave, please shave at least 3-4 hours prior to your treatment.

POST CARE

Avoid excessive sun exposure as well as the use of artificial tanning beds for 72 hours after Treatment.

Discontinue the use of topical Retin-A or generic tretinoin for at least 48 after treatment.

Refrain from waxing and use of depilatories for 48 hours after treatment.

Refrain from any medium and/or deep chemical resurfacing treatments (peels) and laser treatments for 4 weeks after your HydraFacial MD treatment.

Refrain from any type of exfoliating treatments such as glycolic acid or enzymes to the area for 48 hours after your Hydrafacial treatment.

Discontinue use of over-the-counter acne medications such as benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid for 48 hours after treatment.

Avoid heat (hot showers, sauna, and intense cardio) for 24 hours after treatment.

It is not recommended you wear make up the same day, however, it is ok if necessary.

Continue with normal skin care routine 48 hours post treatment.

PRE CARE

You do not need to do anything specific before your teeth whitening appointment, other than brushing your teeth before hand.

POST CARE

Your teeth will continue to brighten 24 hours after treatment. One rule of thumb we go by, is that anything that will stain your shirt, will stain your teeth.

Be careful of foods and drinks with lots of colouring.

Red wine, cola, coffee , tea, red sauces, ketchup, mustard.

Berries such as cherries, blueberries, strawberries.

Tobacco products.

Rinsing after meals and drinks is recommended for the first 24 hours.

DO NOT brush or use mouthwash directly after treatment. The bristles of the toothbrush will be too abrasive for the dehydrated enamel and mouthwash. The mouthwash colouring will stain the whitening process.

Some teeth have natural markings in them, the whitening will enhance that for the first 24 hours but they will then settle back into normal colour.

If sensitivity occurs later, take Tylenol/Advil and coat (not brush) the teeth with toothbrush.
